A tower lease survey combines three types of surveying:
- Boundary Survey – This ensures the tower is not built on someone else’s land and does not infringe on existing easements or within setbacks.
- Topographic Survey (if needed) – Provides ground contours, trees, utilities, other towers, existing improvements, etc. The engineer and/or architects use this information to design the tower compound.
- As-Built Survey – Takes an inventory of a tower as it stands. Tops of antenna, base of tower, access and other appurtenant information is collected along with some minor topography. These are sometimes followed with 1-A Certification letters to conform with FAA laws and regulations.
